PaperlessPrep is a free, privacy-focused platform for digital checklists. We help you prepare for trips, events, and life's adventures without the clutter of paper lists or the privacy concerns of cloud-based apps.
Why Digital Checklists?
Traditional paper checklists have served us well for decades, but they come with limitations. They get lost, damaged, or left behind. They can't be updated easily, and once you've checked off items, you need to print a fresh copy for next time.

How It Works
PaperlessPrep uses your browser's built-in localStorage to save your progress. When you check off an item on a checklist, that state is saved directly on your device. This means:
- Complete Privacy: Your data never leaves your device. We don't have servers storing your information.
- Works Offline: Once a checklist loads, you can use it without an internet connection.
- No Account Required: No signup, no login, no passwords to remember.
- No Tracking: We don't collect analytics or track your behavior (initially—see our privacy policy for future plans).
Our Philosophy
We believe in digital-first thinking. Before reaching for paper, consider if a digital solution can work better. This doesn't mean eliminating paper entirely—sometimes a printed checklist is the right tool for the job. But for most modern use cases, a digital checklist is more practical, accessible, and sustainable.
We also believe in privacy by design. Your preparation habits and travel plans are personal. By using localStorage instead of cloud storage, we ensure your data remains yours alone.
No Signup Required
We're tired of creating accounts for every website we use. PaperlessPrep works immediately—just visit a checklist and start using it. Your progress is saved automatically without any registration.
This approach has limitations (your data doesn't sync across devices), but we believe the benefits of simplicity and privacy outweigh the convenience of cloud sync for most users.
Free to Use
All checklists on PaperlessPrep are free to use. In the future, we may introduce optional advertising to support hosting costs, but the core functionality will always remain free and accessible to everyone.
Who We Are
PaperlessPrep was created by travelers and organizers who were frustrated with lost packing lists and wanted a better solution. We built this tool for ourselves and decided to share it with the world.
